The morning began in a mist around the 'Big Cross'. We had breakfast in the building in which some of the Walkers decided to sleep during the night. Then it was time to do what this group does well... WALK ! There were good frontage roads running parrallel with I-40 East thru just about the whole state of Texas. It's probably going to take some time for most of us when we are finished with this Journey to be able to just drive down a road and not look for alternate routes or check to see if there is room for relay drivers and walkers on the sides of roads. We've been 'on the road' as Walkers with the Sacred Hoop for over a calender month now... it was a lot of adjusting to get used to living this way.. and it's probably going to be an adjustment to go back to our everyday lives as well.

We covered about 50 miles before we arrived at our next scheduled Camp Site. When we arrived it was only about 2:00 in the afternoon... and this camp site had hot showers!! As the Walkers went about the routine of setting up their camp.. I went about my routine of going into the nearby town and buying supplies. Kurt David Adakai decided to join me on the 'shopping spree' in Shamrock Texas. And the 'joke of the day' between Kurt and I seemed to be "So... Vette... this is what you do ... eh?" We bought some food... we shopped for bargains for the camp kitchen at the local dollar store.... and we found rechargeable batteries and mantles for our propane lamp at Adams Hardware. All of this shopping on one main street in Shamrock , Texas! Kurt really was a hit with Mr. Adams. We told him about the Walk and he was so impressed that he wanted to support us in some way. He donated 2 First Aid Kits to the Journey... and we left him with a brochure and our appreciation for his support. You meet the nicest people on the main streets of little towns like this. People who have time to chat with strangers.

Dinner that evening was hosted by the Shamrock McDonalds. They fed all 22 of our team members. Thanks to Sonia Alfaro - Store Manager - who came in on her time off to assist with taking care of all of us. The lady in the picture of this McDonalds is Paula Adams - Swing Manager. Thanks Sonia, Paula, and everyone who served us the good food and the warm smiles !!!

There are good people like this all over who support this Walk. We have had service station managers buy a t-shirt or donate drinks for the Walkers. When we stop anywhere people ask us 'What are you doing'... and we give them a brochure and we tell them about the Walk and the reason why we are walking.. and they want to help... they want to be a part of it in some way. And they are ! We wouldn't be able to do this without the kindness of strangers. Most of the State Co-Ordinators were strangers until a few months ago... and they help because they want to be a part of this message. People in small towns, big cities and country back roads... they want a healing to come for our children. They want the Gifts of the Sacred Hoop... Hope, Healing, Unity, and the ability to Forgive the Unforgiveable. And they all tell us "It's time... it's time for the Awakening". There is so much around us each and every day to keep us inspired to Walk and to spread these messages. Thank you to all the good people of the Shamrock Community for your support and for the prayers you send with us as we continue this Journey.
