We have our Morning Talking Circle early today... and we say 'see ya later' to some of the people who have come to 'see us off'. Thanks for the donations... the money will be VERY helpful when we stop to fuel up the relay vehicles.

With Nashville in our rear view mirrors... we drive thru the freeway congestion to Highway 70 East... North of I-40. There's a bit of a mix-up in the 'logistics' briefing today and one of our vehicles takes Highway 70 East... South of I-40... but by lunch-time all the Drivers and Walkers are together again. Lunch was a real treat for the Walkers because Maxie Gibbs and Jean Maxwell met us in Carthage Tennessee - the half-way point today - and fed us home-made pork roast, potato salad, beans, cole slaw, lemonade and tea. Thanks!!

At the end of this day the Walkers have covered over 100 miles! We camp this evening at Cumberland Mountain State Park... Southwest of Knoxville. The People at this Park are very good to us.. and the Park Rangers drove by our site frequently to check on everyone. It's been a good day... Thank you Creator for the Blessings you give to us and the People who help us on this Journey.

Four Elements of Life

The big four letter word.... LIFE. What can it mean? To live... grow... and die. Wellness and peace and harmony with everything internal and external has brought forth each day with a new beginning.

I am 24... Navajo... My Clan is called "Near Water" on the Zuni side of my family... and "Red House" on the Apache side. Each day's walk.. with the Walkers on the Jouney of the Sacred Hoop 2000 has instilled a vision of hope for a better future. A future that will be created by us... for us... and the generations to come.

My experience on this Walk started in Santa Rosa, New Mexico... then across 4 more States. We walked over the desert.. thru green lands... tornado alley... swamps..... foothills... and now the Great Smoky Mountains.

This Journey... has been a wonderful experience... an opportunity to see myself grow. Hopefully I'll die happy... knowing I carried the Spirit of My People eastward... meeting the sun where it rises... sending the message of Wellbriety back to where it sets.
