Everyone really enjoyed the Conference held at the American Legion this weekend. Maggie Odle did an excellent job... as did Trude and the rest of the volunteers who helped arrange this event and work with the White Bison Staff. We've also had a good time in the evenings with all the visitors who come by our camp to join in our Talking Circles.. or have a Drum and sing... maybe just sit and talk. Some of the folks went with Arvel Bird after the Conference .. he was having a Sweat. We have been treated like royalty here in Nashville. Good People ... we are honored to be with all of you.

We're taking today 'off' so that we can replenish our personal energy. Some folks spent the morning sleeping late. Others went to see local attractions. During the afternoon many of the Walkers went to a farm of one of the local supporters of the Journey of the Sacred Hoop to take him up on his offer to 'ride the horses'. He warned us - up front - that these horses only like women... only come to women. When the Walkers got to the farm they found out he wasn't teasing.

Everytime the women would get a horse or two interested in following them to the corral to be saddled and go for a 'ride'... Henderlen Wilson would show up. And everytime Henderlen would show up.. all the horses would scatter to the far end of the pasture again. I wish Mouse were here to tell you about the 'day of trying to catch the horses'.. and Henderlen scaring them away. Every time she tells the story.. it gets better... and better. That's how good stories are... they get better in the re-telling.

It will be interesting to 'hear' the stories of this Walk for Wellbriety that we are on now. I betcha we won't even recognize half of the people or places once the stories have been practiced and retold a few times. I think I'm going to concentrate on those Memphis Mosquitoes... or maybe how deep the Salt River Canyon was in Arizona. Yeah... took us 3 weeks to walk out of that Canyon. Only a thimble full of water and one chocklit' bar between us..... last 300 feet was sheer rock.. no ropes or climbing gear... just our bare feet and our raw determination. hmmmm Maybe I need to practice this one some more....eh?

Thanks to everyone!!! We enjoyed the fellowship... We had a great time in Nashville. Keep in touch.. and keep the Wellbriety Movement alive!!!
