Mouse is the 'guest writer' for this part of today's Journal Entry:

First thing in the morning the walkers ate breakfast and were excited to go to the Cultural Resources Center. When they arrived to the Center their guides Terry Snowball and Veronica Quiguango were there to give them a warm welcome. This Center holds the items that will be displayed in the National Museum of the American Indian - Smithsonian Institution.

The architecture and landscape of the National Museum reflects the direct involvement of various Native communities. The entry to this building faces east and the four cardinal directions are represented throughout the building. This facility acts as a information resource center, has laboratories and workrooms for conservation, registration and photography for the care of the collection. These objects are displayed only with the approval of the tribes.

As Terry and Veronica guided the walkers through this facility they explained each of the processing rooms and the artifacts. After the tour the walkers ate lunch on a grassy area located by the Washington Monument. After lunch with the ducks the walkers explored the Nations Great Capitol. Many of them went to explore different types of museums while others wandered around. The remainder of the day was for personal time, rest and relaxation.
